Kim So Eun to star in a new drama, A Good Day for the Wind to Blow

If you guys remember how cute Kim So Eun was as Ga Eul from Boys Over Flowers, you should get excited for this.

This actress is set to star in a new daily drama A Good Day for the Wind to Blow. I’m kind of ecstatic for this one because I’m a huge fan and she is going to play the main character for once!

Kim So Eun’s character, Kwon Oh Bok, dreams of being the best illustrator. She is poor and helpless but she has a big dream and is very determined. She will share a love triangle with a design company’s boss and a hometown oppa.

Kim So Eun said, “I’ve done a lot of bubbly characters in the past but this one is cheery and realistic. Look forward to new side of actress Kim So Eun.”

This drama will also star Jin Lee Han, Seo Hyo Rim, Kang Ji Sub, Kim Mi Suk, Na Moon Hee and more. The drama is set to air in February.

Korean Coffee Company Maxim Coffee recently recruited popular actor Jang Geun Suk and actress Kim So Eun to model for their advertisements.

Back in March, Kim Bum, who was Kim So Eun's crush in the popular drama Boys Over Flowers was also modeling for Maxim Coffee.

Kim So Eun Dislikes Playboys like So Yi Jeong

The Japanese Promotion on the 5th at Yokohama University Hall was a great success, featuring many cool songs and performances, and generating great harmony between the Korean artists and Japanese fans.

On this day Kim So Eun expressed, “This is a good event, letting the Japanese fans learn more about me” and “I’m also very close to BoF’s Jan Di. I was like a family to her. However I dislike playboys like So Yi Jeong.”

On boyfriend-girlfriend relationships, Kim So Eun said, “If I were to date, I want a boyfriend who understand the demands of my job. BoF’s Ga Eul seems like a very nice girl. She was able to overcome many difficulties and lead her boyfriend in the right direction.”

She said the following about love scenes with Kim Bum: “Because I’m in the same university as Kim Bum, we were both very embarassed to do love scenes together. While we were shooting, I had a scene where I slipped and fell into Kim Bum’s embrace, and the scene was very embarassing for the both of us. Even though Kim Bum has a very lively and bright personality in school, he is very serious while acting. It is a new look for him.”

She said that she wants to become an actress that is capable of changing, like a chameleon, and act in many different roles. She also asks the Japanese fans to continue supporting her.

Netizens Want Lee Min Ho for ‘Mischievous Kiss’

We reported earlier this month that popular Japanese manga 'Mischievous Kiss' was being remade into a Korean drama by the creators of the hit show 'Boys Over Flowers'. The producers of 'Mischievous Kiss' are currently searching for cast members, and apparently Lee Min Ho is the most popular choice amongst netizens for the drama's lead role. The other F4 boys--Kim Bum, Kim Joon, and Kim Hyun Joong--have also garnered some support from netizens for the role. If casted, Lee Min Ho would once again bring out his sexy bad boy charm to play the role of Naoki, a handsome but arrogant high school genius chased after by a girl named Kotoko, who does everything and anything she can to prove her feelings to him.

As for the role of Kotoko, Goo Hye Sun and Kim So Eun are the popular choices. Seems like netizens really want a 'Boys Over Flowers' reunion, which wouldn't be out of the question, considering the producers are obviously aware of the appeal of that drama's cast.

As for me, I shall clasp my hands in anticipation for a possible Lee Min Ho/Kim So Eun match. How would you guys feel if those two were cast for the lead roles? Would you rather see him get back together with Goo Hye Sun?

Kim So Eun : Ambassador of University Fashion Week

Lots of opportunities have come to Kim So Eun lately.

She has been chosen as the Ambassador of ’2009 University Fashion Week’ with Jung Kyung Ho (Jang Myung Go).

The fashion will be running on th 9th of September till the 11th and they will feature graduation pieces of the fashion design students.

I guess after she attends the Story of Four Flowers promotion in Japan, she will be back in Korea to attend this event.

Kim So Eun : Takes Part in BOF Japan Promotion

As the fans of the hit drama Boys Over Flowers already know, a Story of Four Flowers photobook will be released on September 5th. On the same day, they will be having promotions for the release in Japan. This will be the second Japanese promotion for the drama and it's about time Kim So Eun gets to take part and make an appearance.

The promotions will go on for two days, September 5th and 6th at the Yokohama National University Hall. Artists such as T-Max, Howl, Im Ju Hwan, and of course SS501 are expected to perform on stage.

Not only will Kim So Eun get to make an appearance this time, but it has been reported that she will be making a stage performance as well. Lee Min Ho is also expected to show up on the 5th while Kim Bum and Goo Hye Sun will join the rest of the cast on the 6th.

The sales for the photobook seems like its going well in Japan, it is noted as number one for preorder lately. The scene will definitely be overwhelming at the promotions!

Kim Bum : Publicity Ambassador

For the ‘2009 Korea Drama Festival’ that takes place at the Sinandong River in Jinju this coming October 1st to 15th.


Kim Bum and Yoon Sang-hyun will begin promotional activities as the new publicity ambassadors for the ‘2009 Korea Drama Festival’ on the first of October. The most noteable promotions will be held on October 12th and 13th, where both actors will present the best scenes of their hit drama to the public.



On October 12th, Kim Bum along side Kim So-eun, will attend the “Asia Star Night-Boys Over Flowers Special” and present the best scenes of the hit drama, “Boys over Flowers”. The Taiwan and Japan cast will also be present at the event.

Fall's approaching with a lot of anticipation for artist comebacks and drama premieres but summer's not quite over yet. Mnet's third annual 20's Choice Awards (think Teen Choice Awards) is coming August 28th! Don't ask me why Mnet clearly states it as a "summer break" but airs it in August (some have mentioned October but I don't think that's correct)...

So for those of you who are clueless about this event, the awards are broken up into 20 different categories (hence the 20's in the event name), fans vote, and on the actual awards show there is a blue carpet for arrivals, performances, and of course the revealing of whose hot in Korea! Fans are allowed to vote, so it's a matter of who has the most fans...but doesn't that just mean the winner is hot hot hot?
